How to prepare for different sections of SBI PO Mains Exam?

State Bank of India usually declares the result of SBI PO Prelims within the month of the date of the examination. It states clearly that there is no time left to prepare after getting the results. One should prepare for SBI PO Mains Exams also simultaneously. 
Let us discuss how we should prepare subject-wise to crack SBI PO Mains Exam. One can join Bank Coaching in Alwar or do self study but all this requires an effective study plan.

SBI PO Mains exam has four sections

General Awareness: It is one of the most scoring sections if prepared properly. Develop the habit of reading newspapers daily and cover Current affairs related to banking and economics and static news of about 6 months. To score well one should make a note of these news and information and revise them daily.
English Comprehension : It is the most ignored and least prepared section by the aspirants. Most of aspirants are comfortable with Reasoning and Quant section which leads them to face difficulty in attempting English section. In case one is weak or average in this section then make a habit of practicing English Questions on a regular basis. Make a regular study plan to cover all the important topics such as: 
  • Cloze Test
  • ParaJumble
  • Fill in the blanks
  • Reading Comprehension
  • Spotting Error
  • Sentence Improvement
One must give at least 2 hours a day to score well in this section
Data Interpretation & Analysis :
DI is one of the most difficult sections in the SBI PO exam. Though most of you may be comfortable in this section but don’t be over confident as it may harm you in exam. If you are not good in this section then develop a habit to practice this section on a regular basis. Make a study plan in order to cover all the important topics.

Try to practice diverse topics, which are mentioned below –

Pie Chart, Table Chart, Bar Graph, Caselet(Paragraph DI), Line Graph, Mixed Graph, Probability & Data Sufficiency
One must make a daily schedule to practice all the different topics of this section.
Practice this section for at least 3 hours a day.
Do a regular practice on 2 sets of 5 Questions on each DI on a daily basis. Then analyze your performance and mistakes which you have made during the practice. This exercise will give you an idea how to attempt these topics in exams.
Reasoning and Computer Aptitude
Reasoning is the difficult section in SBI PO exam. Some students don’t know how to deal with this section and always start with the first questions or with puzzle type’s questions.
If one is weak or average in this section then develop a habit of practicing this section on a regular basis. Try to cover all the important topics such as:
  • Inequality
  • Syllogism
  • Puzzles
  • Input Output
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Data Sufficiency
  • Miscellaneous – Blood relation, Direction, Ranking, Alphanumeric Series, Coding Decoding.
  • Computer Aptitude Questions
Practice for at least 2 hours a day with different topics every day such as Inequality, Syllogism, Input Output, Data Sufficiency, Miscellaneous (Blood relation, Direction, Ranking, Alphanumeric Series, Coding Decoding) + Computer Aptitude
Always Practice 3 sets of 5 Questions on every topic on a daily basis. Further you should analyze your score & mistakes which you have made during the practice. This exercise will give you an idea how to deal these topics in exams.
To Puzzles and Logical reasoning one should at least practice 3 different types of puzzles & Logical Reasoning Questions daily. It will make you confident to attempt difficult puzzles during exam in fast and smart way.
